Porteño Fileteado Tour

🎨 Our tour begins in front of the historic Notable Bar El Federal in San Telmo. Here, our guide will introduce us to the essential concepts of porteño fileteado, with a colorful fileteado mural providing the perfect backdrop.

Next, we’ll explore the streets of San Telmo, a true open-air museum where this traditional art form can be found on facades, signs, and throughout the neighborhood. During the walk, we’ll learn about the history of fileteado, its distinctive features, and the legacy of the talented masters who transformed it into a symbol of Buenos Aires culture.

Created in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the 20th century, fileteado became one of the most recognizable expressions of Argentine identity. Its cultural significance reached far beyond Argentina, and today it is recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

🏛️ We’ll visit the Church of San Pedro González Telmo, where we can admire several works by the renowned master Martiniano Arce. We’ll then continue to the iconic San Telmo Market, one of the most traditional and popular landmarks in Buenos Aires.

✨ To finish the tour, we’ll take part in an exclusive class with a Master Fileteador. Under the artist’s guidance, we’ll learn the techniques and secrets of this traditional Buenos Aires art and create our own piece to take home as a souvenir of an authentic Buenos Aires experience.
