Frequently Asked Questions
The luxury tour to Perito Moreno Glacier typically includes: domestic flight arrangements from Buenos Aires to El Calafate (optional or included depending on the price), private transfers from the airport to your hotel and Los Glaciares National Park, selected accommodations with breakfast, a full-day excursion to the glacier via walkways, a bilingual tour guide specializing in tourism, and assistance throughout the trip. Some versions also include a boat trip in front of the glacier (Nautical Safari or other) and park entrance fees. Meals, tips, and airport taxes are not always included. We recommend reviewing the confirmed service details before booking to know exactly what is covered and what services are offered as extras.
The itinerary varies depending on the season and availability, but as a guide, many travelers choose a 2- to 4-day program. Day 1: Flight from Buenos Aires to El Calafate and transfer to the hotel. Day 2: Full-day excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier, with panoramic walkways and optional boat trip. Additional days: Free time, Patagonian ranches, or lakes. Direct flights take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes each way. Schedules are coordinated to maximize your experience and rest. When you book your tour, you will receive a detailed itinerary with pick-up times, estimated duration of each activity, and support contacts.
The Perito Moreno Glacier excursion is available year-round. Peak season runs from October to April, with longer days and more boat trips; the Patagonian winter (June–August) offers snowy landscapes and fewer visitors. The weather is changeable and windy, so we recommend dressing in layers: thermal base layer, fleece, waterproof jacket, and windbreaker. Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. A small day bag is ideal for the walkways. Keep cash and ID handy for entrance fees/security checks. Check with the tour operator if they provide ponchos or trekking poles.
Visiting Los Glaciares National Park via walkways is an activity of low to moderate difficulty, suitable for families and senior travelers; there are circuits with ramps and viewpoints at different heights. Sailing in front of the glacier is usually calm and suitable for all ages. Ice walking or mini-trekking experiences, offered by local operators, may require a good level of fitness and have age and health restrictions determined by each company. If you are traveling with young children, strollers, or have reduced mobility, please inform us when booking so we can arrange transfers, tour times, and personalized assistance on this premium excursion.
The price of a luxury tour to Perito Moreno Glacier depends on the season, hotel category, whether domestic flights are included, the type of transfer (private or shared), and activities such as boat trips. Payment can be made by credit card, bank transfer, and in some cases, in installments. Change and cancellation policies vary by airline, hotel, and tour operator; some services (flights, entrance fees) may be non-refundable. We recommend booking in advance, reviewing the fare terms before paying, and considering travel insurance. The reservations team will confirm the currency, applicable taxes, and all inclusions in writing.
