As we reach the southern end of the Canal de los Témpanos, the boat maintains a safe distance from the glacier wall, navigating its entire length. This offers a unique perspective of the majestic walls of the Perito Moreno Glacier and their continuous cascades into Lago Rico.

Day 4
All Glaciers
Following breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Puerto Punta Bandera, 47km from El Calafate, to start the excursion.
Once at the port, we board our comfortable vessels. The journey begins by sailing through the North Arm of Lake Argentino, crossing the Boca del Diablo, and proceeding to the Upsala Channel to experience the thrill of navigating among large icebergs from the Upsala Glacier.
We then sail towards the Spegazzini Canal, offering spectacular views of hanging glaciers such as the Dry Glacier, Heim Glacier Sur, and Peineta Glacier, leading up to the main attraction: the awe-inspiring Spegazzini Glacier. This massive glacier provides a stunning sight with its height exceeding 135 meters.
To enhance the experience, we will disembark at Base Spegazzini in front of the Glacier to enjoy the modern Refugio Spegazzini, equipped with all necessary services and offering unparalleled panoramic views. You can also opt to try delicious regional dishes suitable for all tastes.
After this free time, the excursion concludes back at the port, from where we return to El Calafate.

The package typically includes accommodation in select hotels with breakfast, all airport transfers, a panoramic city tour of Buenos Aires, and an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate, including walkways. In many cases, a Spanish/bilingual guide and assistance are provided throughout the trip. Glacier view boat trips and mini-trekking are optional activities, as are entrance fees to Los Glaciares National Park, which may not be included depending on the price. Domestic flights may be included or quoted separately. Always check the itinerary details, hotel categories, pick-up times, and baggage policies to ensure an optimal experience in Argentine Patagonia.

This combined tour typically recommends between 5 and 7 days: 2 or 3 nights in Buenos Aires to explore iconic neighborhoods (Centro, San Telmo, La Boca, Recoleta) with a city tour and free time, and 2 or 3 nights in El Calafate to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, walk along the walkways, and add a boat trip or other options such as mini-trekking or a full day at a estancia (ranch). The order of the itinerary may vary depending on flight availability. It is recommended to arrive in Buenos Aires, fly to El Calafate midway through the trip, and return to the capital for the international flight. Please check schedules, transfers, and connection times.

It's a trip you can take year-round. Between September and April, Patagonia enjoys milder weather and longer days; January and February are peak season. In winter, you'll find low temperatures and possible snowfall, along with spectacular scenery. Pack in layers: a windproof and waterproof jacket, a fleece, a thermal shirt, a hat, gloves, and a scarf. Hiking boots with good non-slip soles are essential for the Perito Moreno Glacier walkways. Add sunscreen, UV sunglasses, a reusable water bottle, a small daypack for excursions, and a USB-C plug adapter. In Buenos Aires, dress comfortably and casually. Bring a credit card and some cash in Argentine pesos for entrance fees and tips.

Depending on the fare, the package may include domestic flights Buenos Aires–El Calafate–Buenos Aires or be quoted separately; international flights are rarely included. Cancellation policies vary by season, airline, and hotel category: some fares allow flexible cancellation with advance notice, while others apply penalties or are non-refundable. Date changes are usually subject to fare differences and fees. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers cancellation due to medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Always check the airline's terms and conditions (baggage, check-in, allowance) and the tour operator's terms and conditions before booking to ensure price and refund transparency.

You can book online through the operator's website or via a travel advisor. Credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and local currency payments are generally accepted; some agencies offer financing or payment plans. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the balance due before departure, according to their policy. After payment, you will receive an electronic voucher with your itinerary, hotel details, transfer schedules, and 24/7 assistance contact numbers. Verify that your name matches your passport for domestic flight bookings. Save the confirmation to your mobile device and download your tickets. Request an invoice and cancellation policy in writing.
