Gualeguaychú In The Day

We will gather all participants at the designated meeting point near the Obelisk, where we will organize the group and get everyone settled into our vehicle. Our departure to Gualeguaychú is scheduled for 7:45 AM. En route, we will make a brief stop at a gas station, allowing passengers to use the restroom and, if desired, purchase snacks at the mini-market. The journey is expected to take around two and a half hours.

By approximately 10:30 AM, we will reach the Las Magnolias winery, situated at the South Access of Gualeguaychú. The welcoming staff of the farm will greet us warmly. The tour will commence at the entrance of the historic colonial house, which now hosts the restaurant and the winery's tasting room.

Our guided tour will lead us through the vineyards, where we will observe the plants with their spring growth following pruning. Throughout the tour, we will discuss the various types of vines and soils, among other details. Next, we will explore the winery where the wine is crafted and aged using traditional methods. We will delve into the history of wine in this region of Argentina and its prolonged prohibition.

Subsequently, we will enjoy a wine tasting and sampling either under the estate's main oak tree or in our charming lounge. A snack featuring small empanadas, local cheese, and coarsely chopped salami will be served. There will be opportunities to take photographs and explore the surroundings before we depart.

At around 12:30 PM, we will proceed to the Crescencio restaurant, renowned as one of the finest on the Gualeguaychú waterfront. This establishment is celebrated for its rich history, excellent service, and a diverse menu catering to all tastes. Our lunch will consist of a starter, main course, and dessert (see menu).

Following lunch, we will board the eleven-meter-long Gypsy Cruise for an unforgettable experience. Our guided tour will navigate along the city's coast, sharing stories of the immigrants who arrived in Gualeguaychú via this port. We will pass by Libertad Island, the old cargo crane, the Mendez Casariego Bridge, and Unzué Park.

During the cruise, local sweet treats and hot coffee will be provided. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on board. The boat is equipped with a restroom and spacious interiors for inclement weather. The cruise will last between sixty and ninety minutes, allowing us to savor the sunset on board.

We will disembark at the port stairs, where our vehicle will be ready to take us back to Buenos Aires. A stop will be made for restroom use, and we will arrive near the Obelisk at approximately 9:30 PM.
